ITANAGAR, Jan 12: The week-long National Integration Camp (NIC) themed ‘Viksit Yuva, Viksit Bharat’ concluded successfully at the premises of Dera Natung Govt College (DNGC) here today.
The event was organized by the Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati in collaboration with the DNGC and State NSS Cell, DHTE, GoAP from 5th to 11th January wherein 15 states of the country viz Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and eight NE states participated.
The valedictory function, graced by Amjad Tak, Commissioner Education (GoAP) as chief guest, Pige Ligu, Secretary Education (GoAP) as guest of honour, Dr M Q Khan, Principal DNGC, Dr A K Mishra, State Liaison Officer, NSS, DHTE, GoAP and other dignitaries, marked the successful completion of the whole event.
In his address, the Commissioner strongly pitched for organizing more such National Integration Camps after every six months which would enhance the spirit of integration and unite the people emotionally and morally that can foster and fuel peace, harmony, love and fellow feelings among people of India.
Dr Khan, in his speech, shared the importance of organizing National Integration Camp and termed it as the platform, where awareness for a common identity among citizens of the country, is accomplished.
While expressing his satisfaction on the successful execution of the event, Dr Khan said, “The NIC not only achieved its goal of fostering unity but also created a network of goodwill and understanding among the diverse participants.” He categorically dealt at length about the idea of organizing NIC and considered it to integrate rich cultures and traditions of the nation.
He requested all the participants to imbibe good memories of Arunachal Pradesh and share them with the rest of the nation. He also encouraged the campers to become a brand ambassador of Arunachal Pradesh and promote tourism which can boost the economic status of the State.
He further mentioned the importance of NIC to enhance the unity as “unity in diversity” is the mantra of India.
The participants from various states took part in constructive feedback sessions. Cultural Parade was one of the centers of attraction in the valedictory programme, which was followed by distribution of mementos and certificates to the winners of various competitive events and the most disciplined team.
In the traditional dance competition event, Mizoram emerged as the winner, while Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim came in at 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Revti of Punjab, Aditi Agarwal of West Bengal and Prashant Sagar of Haryana stood in 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively in extempore speech competition.
In slogan writing competition, Akshat of Haryana, Avneet Kaur of Punjab and Pranjan of Assam clinched the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. Further, in poster making competition, Chapo Tangjang from Arunachal Pradesh fetched the 1st prize and, Kushi Gewal of West Bengal and B Mahammad Hussain of Andhra Pradesh took the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. The most disciplined team award was clinched by team Andhra Pradesh for their excellent and exemplary conduct and working throughout the camp.
