ITANAGAR, Jun 23: The ‘World Mission Society Church of God’ volunteered a cleanliness drive in the State capital here on Sunday.
Besides being engaged with the clean-up campaign, the members of the Org also lent hands to those who were at the receiving end due to nature’ fury triggered by sudden splash of heavy rainfall over the city today.
As part of the drive, scores of volunteers including members of this church, their families and neighbours, carefully inspected a 1.5 km stretch of the VIP road and collected various household wastes in a huge quantity. As such, the garbage truck sent from the IMC was not enough but it had to dump off the first collected garbage and come back for collect the second lot.
The Itanagar Municipal Corporation rallied behind the Org by providing brooms, garbage bags and a garbage truck in response to the volunteer work of the church members.
