Kiwi farmers embark on 3-day exposure tour to AAU, Jorhat

Yachuli, Jan 19: A group of 25 Kiwi farmers from Yachuli and Ziro embarked on a three-day exposure trip to Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat under the Capacity Building for Adoption of Technology (CAT) program, focusing on promoting beekeeping as a complementary activity under NABARD’s Farmer Sector Promotion Fund (FSPF).

Yachuli Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Suraj Gurung, in the presence of NABARD’s District Development Manager (DDM) Dr Lalit Maurya and Sr Scientist & Head, KVK Yachuli, Dr Hage Munth, flagged off the group of farmers.

The visit, sponsored by the NABARD and implemented by KVK Yachuli, aims to enhance farmers' knowledge of modern beekeeping techniques and its integration with Kiwi cultivation to improve pollination, yield, and income.

During their visit to AAU, farmers will engage with experts, participate in hands-on training sessions, and witness advanced beekeeping and agricultural practices.

The initiative underscores NABARD's commitment to empowering farmers through technology-driven and sustainable agricultural practices.
