NAMSAI, Jan 24: In a bid to provide benefits to unemployed youths of Namsai district under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and State Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (SAPS) and to achieve one of the goals of Aspirational District Programme (ADP) of Niti Aayog, the District Skill Committee headed by Deputy Commissioner CR Khampa today conducted a meeting with the departments concerned and stakeholders here at the conference hall of DC’s office, Namsai.
Taking into account the priority of the State government to leap Namsai district to top position from current 12th position under ADP’s district ranking category, the DC informed the house present about the takeaway points of recently concluded review meeting chaired by Dy CM Chowna Mein here on Thursday last and suggested ways and means to improve the KPI of the district in skill development sector under ADP.
Seeking early identification and registration of eligible candidates, Khampa suggested the ADI Namsai to conceptualise an action plan to put in place mechanisms to conduct a series of sensitization and mobilization campaigns, covering all administrative circles of the district to generate awareness about the schemes to the masses.
The DC also urged all stakeholders to extend their support and cooperation in extracting the benefits of the schemes at the “fullest” to push the district into top 10 districts under ADP ranking of Niti Aayog.
Stressing the importance of involvement of PRI and public leaders in mobilization and identification of eligible beneficiaries, he exhorted all stakeholders concerned to work in tandem to generate mass awareness to bring the benefits under the schemes at the doorsteps of all eligible beneficiaries.
The DC also urged all eligible youths of Namsai district to visit District Industries Centre - Namsai or contact ADI Namsai to enquire about the scheme and avail the benefits.
ADI Nondo Doka and Shantanu Choudhury, Assistant Manager of Eduvantage, a Training Provider Aggregator, enlightened the members present about the schemes and its benefits. Eduvantage has assured to provide all possible assistance in successful implementation of the schemes in the district.
NAPS aims to foster apprenticeship programmes throughout the nation and create a skilled workforce by providing financial incentives, technological support and advocacy to the stakeholders. To promote and support apprenticeship programmes in the State, free travelling, accommodation and fooding facilities are some of the benefits provided by the State government under SAPS. Any diploma or graduate, ITI passouts and class 8 pass candidates in the age group of 18-35 years are eligible to register and avail the benefits under the scheme.
ZPMs Jugesh Taye and Bijoy Neog and DPO Keshab Sarmah also took part in the discussion and suggested ways to generate mass awareness about the scheme. DPO also assured to extend his support in promotion and implementation of the schemes.
