VBYP 2025: Dist Nodal Round begins at DNGC

Itanagar, Mar 22: The District Nodal Round competition of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2025 commenced today here at Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), focusing on the theme "One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat."

The event, organized under the Regional Directorate of NSS Guwahati, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI, is being hosted in collaboration with NSS Cell, DNGC and NYKS, Itanagar.

The competition saw 50 youth participants delivering three-minute speeches on the given theme. The inaugural session was graced by Dr MQ Khan, Principal DNGC, and Dr AK Mishra, State Liaison Officer, NSS.

Earlier, 268 participants from eight districts including Itanagar Capital Region, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Keyi Panyor, Kamle, Pakke Kessang, Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi had participated in the Registration Round by submitting one-minute video entries on the theme “What does Viksit Bharat mean to you?”. From this, 150 participants were selected for the District Nodal Round, and the top 10 winners will advance to the State level championship to be held at the State Legislative Assembly.

In his address, Dr MQ Khan emphasized the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, urging youth to take pride in India’s progress and actively contribute to nation-building. Dr AK Mishra encouraged students to engage in public discourse and policymaking. Dr Prem Taba, an external jury member, highlighted the role of youth in governance and environmental sustainability.

The event coordinated by District Nodal Officer (ICR) Botem Moyong along with other faculty members, aims to empower young minds, enhance decision-making skills, and foster national unity. The two-day event will conclude tomorrow.

TEZU: A two-day district nodal round of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 on the topic ‘One Nation, One Election: Paving the way for Viksit Bharat’, sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Govt of India) and organized by the Indira Gandhi Govt College in collaboration with the NSS Unit, IGGC, Tezu and Nehru Yuba Kendra Sangathan (Lohit district), commenced at the college auditorium here today.

In his welcome speech, IGGC Principal Dr Kangki Megu appreciated the farsighted vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047’. He emphasized that youth are the real treasure of any nation to transform their dreams into realities as they have creative thoughts and innovative ideas. He advised the participants to ponder over the topic and share their creative acumen by using this platform. Dr Megu emphatically stated that the topic ‘one nation, one election’ “is the clarion call of the hour and it will herald a new era in the process of good governance and inclusive development”.

Attending the event as a Jury member and chief guest, Lohit District BJP president Gamso Billai also lauded the optimistic and farsighted vision of PM Modi to achieve the Viksit Bharat by 2047. He said that “conducting simultaneous elections will check the problems and open new vistas in the field of conducting elections in India”. He further said that the youth are the agents of change who can bring “colossal” changes in heralding a new era in the democratic society in India.

Other jury members included Dr P C Swain, Associate Professor (Pol Sc, IGGC); Nekong Perme, CO TEZU and Chowkhiya Tayang, local youth leader.

Over 100 participants from eight districts participated in the programme today.
