PASIGHAT, Jun 9: The East Siang district administration organized a warm and befitting farewell programme at the DC’s conference hall here on Monday in honour of outgoing Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, who is set to assume his new role as the Director of Rural Development in Itanagar.
The farewell witnessed heartfelt tributes from administrative officers, departmental heads, and staff members, who praised Taggu’s exemplary leadership, calm demeanour, and administrative acumen. Many speakers commended his humility, approachability, and dedication to inclusive development, which significantly advanced the district’s progress in multiple sectors.
East Siang SP Pankaj Lamba described him as a "guiding light", who maintained law and order with wisdom and composure. ADC (HQ) Tatling Pertin lauded his inspiring leadership of "Team East Siang" and his ability to build strong rapport with the public and stakeholders alike.
During his tenure, East Siang earned prestigious recognition, including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration in 2022, making it one of the best-performing districts among hilly states and the only Gold Medal awardee from Arunachal Pradesh that year.
In his farewell address, Taggu expressed gratitude to the people of East Siang, all stakeholders, administrative officers, HoDs, the CEO of Pasighat Smart City, and all departmental staff. He attributed the district’s successes to teamwork and collective dedication.
“To lead an office, one must first lead oneself. I believe in positivity, continuous learning, and personal discipline in public service,” he remarked.
He noted with pride the completion of several Smart City projects during his tenure, made possible through the close collaboration with CEO Dr Manjuli Komut and her team. “These projects have given wings to the vision of a vibrant and future-ready Pasighat,” he added.
His tenure also saw the successful implementation of e-Office promoting a paperless administration, and substantial progress on key initiatives like the Murkongselek–Pasighat Railway Project under the Northeast Railway Connectivity Project.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by SDO (Judicial) Sanjay Taram.
