ANINI, Jun 9: As part of Day 11 of VKSA campaign in Dibang Valley district, a new tailoring training centre was inaugurated at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Anini to promote skill development and self-employment among local residents.
Sponsored by the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT)-Anini, the inauguration ceremony was graced by Deputy Commissioner Pagli Sora who emphasized the importance of vocational training in empowering rural youth and women. The DC was joined by ZPC Theko Tayu, senior scientist from KVK Dr Tsedar Wangmu, Dani Oyang (Home Science expert), SHG, youths and a few officials from the district.
The DC appreciated the efforts of KVK, Anini in initiating such a meaningful step towards sustainable livelihood generation in Dibang Valley. The tailoring centre aims to provide hands-on training in bag, sofa, pillow making, and equipment by equipping the participants with practical skills to start their own venture or seek employment.
Speaking at the event, the ZPC emphasized the importance of skill based education in rural development and commended the KVK for its efforts in uplifting the community.
This initiative is part of a broader mission to enhance livelihood opportunities in Dibang valley through vocational training and capacity building.
Oyang informed the participants that this training program aims to empower women with livelihood skills, reduce dependence on jobs, focussing on self-employment opportunities etc. The session mainly focused on basic tailoring tips, cloth cutting, dress stitching etc.
