Outrage in Kalaktang as 2 labourers held for secretly filming hostel girls

Kalaktang, Jul 31: In a deeply disturbing incident that has sparked widespread outrage among the locals, two labourers working at the construction site of Kalaktang Govt Higher Secondary School were arrested for allegedly recording videos of hostel girls while they were bathing in an open tap area within the school campus.

The accused have been identified as Mehoob Hussain (18) and Munsor Ali (18). According to initial reports, the incident came to light when one of the accused allegedly made inappropriate comments towards a female student on Wednesday. The student promptly reported the matter to school authorities.

Upon being alerted, teachers and students checked the mobile phones of the accused and reportedly discovered objectionable videos that were allegedly recorded without the girls’ consent.

Following a formal complaint, Kalaktang Police swiftly arrested both individuals. The incident triggered immediate public anger, leading to a spontaneous protest by local residents and student organizations outside the Kalaktang Police Station.

As the situation escalated, additional police forces were deployed to maintain peace and order in the area.

A case (No. 11/25) has been registered at Kalaktang Police Station under Sections 75, 77, and 78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Section 66E of the Information Technology Act, and Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The accused were presented before the magistrate on Thursday.

The Officer-in-Charge of Kalaktang Police Station, Inspector Dujom Bagra, confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway. He assured the public that justice will be served and urged the community to remain calm while legal proceedings continue.
