‘Entrepreneurship not only generates livelihoods but also strengthens socio-economic fabric’

TEZU, Sep 23: The Investment & Entrepreneurship Workshop for Cluster 2 under UNNATI 2024 was organized here today at Amik Ringya Hall, by the District Industries Centre, Tezu, with more than 330 entrepreneurs from Lohit, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Anjaw, and Namsai districts participating.

Lohit Deputy Commissioner Kesang Ngurup Damo, the chief Guest, underlined the critical role of entrepreneurship in building both the state and the nation’s economy. He emphasized that government jobs cannot be provided to everyone and excessive dependence on them would only worsen the employment challenge. Instead, he urged the youth to make use of the skill development and training opportunities provided under various government schemes, stressing that entrepreneurship not only generates livelihoods but also strengthens the socio-economic fabric of Arunachal Pradesh.

The programme saw the entrepreneurs, who were sensitized about flagship schemes such as UNNATI-2024, APIDIP-2025, PMFME, and PM Vishwakarma, designed to promote industrial development and self-employment.

Director Industries Gyabo Pertin encouraged entrepreneurs to actively engage in the sessions to understand and leverage the schemes for their businesses.

Jt Director Industries Goli Angu provided a comprehensive overview of the schemes, explaining eligibility, benefits, and processes.

The event was also attended by Angelu Chaitom, ZPM Sunpura, and Balong Tindya, ZPM Tezu.

Tindya, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the Govt of India and the State Govt for extending such transformative initiatives to the grassroots level, highlighting that these efforts will empower youth and local entrepreneurs to play a meaningful role in regional growth.
