DNGCI observes NSS Day with induction, orientation & career counselling program

Itanagar, Sep 24: The NSS Unit of Dera Natung Government College Itanagar (DNGCI) celebrated NSS Day 2025 with an induction, orientation, and career counselling programme for newly enrolled volunteers of the 2025–26 session.

Delivering the career counselling session, college principal Dr MQ Khan highlighted the increasing demand for NSS volunteers across NGOs, government, private sectors, and international organisations such as the UNO. He encouraged students to prioritize mental and physical health, use social media constructively, and prepare early for competitive exams like UPSC and APPSC. Dr Khan also emphasised discipline, focused effort, and the importance of choosing the right peer group.

The NSS Induction, conducted by Dr Kipa Roni, familiarized volunteers with the history, objectives (“Not Me, But You”), organisational structure, activities, and the adopted village, Bath Village, Itanagar Circle. Botem Moyong briefed participants on the MyBharat Portal and its benefits, while Phuntso Gombu stressed maintaining discipline, regular attendance, and working towards single-use plastic-free initiatives.

The event was hosted by Chukhu Mepu and Sima Tok, with a welcome address by Hema Das. The programme was successfully coordinated by NSS Programme Officers Dr Kipa Roni,  Phuntso Gombu, Botem Moyong, and Dr Tarh Achi, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from all volunteers.
