Itanagar, Sep 27: The Indian Army’s Spear Corps successfully concluded a two-week Yoga training programme for its combatants at Aalo. The programme, held from September 15 to 27, was aimed at enhancing the holistic well-being of soldiers by integrating physical endurance with mental resilience through the timeless discipline of Yoga.
Conducted under the guidance of trained instructors, the sessions were designed to meet the unique physical and psychological demands of soldiers serving in challenging terrain and climatic conditions. Apart from improving fitness, the training focused on cultivating calmness of mind, emotional balance, and spiritual strength—qualities vital for operational effectiveness.
The programme covered posture-based exercises, breathing techniques, and meditation practices, equipping soldiers with practical tools to manage stress, overcome fatigue, and sustain high readiness levels during demanding tasks. The enthusiastic participation of troops underscored the relevance of Yoga in modern military life.
By harmonizing body, mind, and spirit, Yoga complements the ethos of discipline and self-control central to soldiering. The initiative reflects the Army’s commitment to adopting holistic fitness practices in line with the national vision of promoting Yoga as a way of life.
The successful completion of the programme marks another milestone in Spear Corps’ endeavour to nurture its warriors as not only defenders of the nation but also as balanced individuals prepared to meet every challenge with composure and strength. (PRO Defence)
