The surrendered cadres have been identified as Jonali Basumatary (Corporal), Jummik Riba (Lieutenant & Finance Secretary), and Seng Seng Thowmoung (Sergeant Major & Eastern Zone Commander). They also laid down arms, including pistols with live ammunition, at the Police Headquarters here today in front of Home Minister Mama Natung, his Advisor Mutchu Mithi, and DGP Anand Mohan.

“It is unfortunate that misguided youths, influenced by social media and propaganda, are drawn into insurgency—a path that ultimately ends in surrender or arrest. The state government is steadfast in paving the way for lasting peace and development. Our priority is to ensure all such youths have the opportunity to return home and contribute positively to society, making violence an unattractive and unnecessary option,” he remarked.

Commending the police for their sustained efforts, Natung said that Arunachal Pradesh has always been a peace-loving state. “Those indulging in anti-social activities can never escape the clutches of law,” he said.

DGP Anand Mohan praised the professionalism of Arunachal Pradesh Police, noting that the surrenders were the result of sustained intelligence work and meticulous operations. He further highlighted the police’s continued success in busting drug rackets and curbing extortion by insurgent groups.
