APSLSA concludes ‘Mediation for the Nation’ campaign

Itanagar, Oct 6: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) has successfully concluded the 90-day “Mediation for the Nation” campaign on September 30 under the guidance of the Chief Justice of India and Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairman, NALSA and MCPC.

The campaign, launched by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Mediation & Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), ran from July 1 to September 30 with the objective of promoting amicable dispute resolution through mediation and reducing court pendency.

During the campaign, 600 cases were referred for mediation by various courts across Arunachal Pradesh, of which 46 cases were successfully settled, showcasing the growing confidence in mediation as a cost-effective and time-efficient method of dispute resolution.

The cases referred included matrimonial disputes cases, accident claims cases, domestic violence cases, cheque bounce cases, commercial disputes cases, service matters cases, criminal compoundable cases, consumer disputes cases, debt recovery cases, partition cases, eviction cases, land acquisition cases, and other suitable civil cases. To ensure maximum accessibility and convenience to the parties, mediation session was conducted in offline mode (physical mode), online mode and hybrid mode, on all seven days of the week.

APSLSA expressed sincere appreciation to all Judicial Officers, Chairpersons and Secretaries of DLSAs, Legal Aid functionaries, and the panel of 14 mediators for their active participation and dedication. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring “Access to Justice for All” and promoting mediation as a preferred mode of dispute resolution.
