Tawang setting up for 4th State level Archery Competition

TAWANG, Oct 16: A review coordination meeting was held this morning at the conference hall of the DC’s office here to discuss preparations for the upcoming 4th State Level Archery Competition, scheduled to take place at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Sports Stadium from October 28 to 30.

Chaired by ADC Tawang Rinchin Leta, the meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Dr D W Thongon, heads of various departments, work agencies, and members of the Tawang District Archery Association (TDAA) led by its president Tashi Tsering.

Speaking at the meeting, the ADC emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and coordination, noting that as a state level competition there should be no room for shortcomings. He urged all departments to extend full cooperation to the organizers so that the event can be conducted seamlessly and showcase Tawang’s capacity to host major sporting events.

During the meeting, TDAA secretary Tenzin Lhendup briefed the house on the detailed plan of events, logistics, and requirements for the successful conduct of the prestigious tournament. He stated that more than 90 archers from across Arunachal Pradesh will be participating in the three-day competition, making it one of the largest archery events in the State.

During the open discussion, officials and association members shared valuable suggestions and inputs aimed at enhancing the arrangements and ensuring a successful and memorable tournament.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Tsering expressed gratitude to the district administration, Tawang Brigade, and various works departments for their continuous support and sought their active cooperation to ensure smooth execution of the event.

The 4th State level Archery Competition is expected to draw enthusiastic participation and audiences, celebrating Arunachal Pradesh’s traditional sport in the scenic and culturally rich setting of Tawang. (DIPRO)
