140 candidates get offer letters at ArSRLM’s two-day program under DDU-GKY

ITANAGAR, Oct 16: The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) under the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) successfully concluded a two-day Mass Placement Counselling and Career Guidance Program here on Wednesday, in which 140 candidates received offer letters.

The two-day event witnessed participation from over 140 candidates along with representatives from leading employers — Ranjit Tugga (GM) Gokaldas Exports and Mallesh S Lamani, (Manager) Divinitee Genesis Apparel Pvt Ltd — and Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs), including My Mother Charitable Trust (MMCT) and Nurture Employability and Economic Development Society (NEEDS).

During the event, a total of 140 candidates received on-the-spot offer letters — 102 candidates were selected by Gokaldas Exports and 38 more by Divinitee Genesis Apparel Pvt Ltd. These candidates will join work immediately after completing training in the Sewing Machine Operator trade at the MMCT and NEEDS training centres.

The program featured pre-counselling orientation sessions the first day by the ArSRLM officials, Candidates also participated in career mentorship sessions by industry experts and one-on-one employer interviews, gaining real-time exposure to job expectations and workplace readiness.

Sangeeta Yirang, CEO-cum-State Mission Director ArSRLM, said: “This initiative reflects our mission to provide holistic support to rural youth — from skill development to career placement. I encourage all candidates to approach their careers with discipline, hard work, and resilience, as these qualities are key to long-term success. While working in metropolitan cities, it is important to remain alert, careful, and responsible, ensuring personal safety and professional conduct at all times. Through personalized counselling and strong industry linkages, ArSRLM continues to set new benchmarks in livelihood promotion and career development.”

Ruzing Bellai, COO (Skills) ArSRLM, encouraged all DDU-GKY trainees to make full use of such initiatives, emphasizing the importance of career counselling and continuous self-improvement. He added that counselling sessions prepare candidates for interviews, help identify strengths, align skills with industry requirements, and build confidence to seize employment opportunities.

He also commended the Placement Team led by Nabam Ompi, SMM (MPB), for organizing impactful counselling and placement drives, maintaining strong employer coordination, and guiding youth from skill training to successful job placement and long-term career growth.

Organized in collaboration with PIAs My Mother Charitable Trust (MMCT) and Nurture Employability and Economic Development Society (NEEDS) under DDU-GKY, ArSRLM, the initiative reinforces the Mission’s goal of fostering sustainable livelihoods for rural youth through skill development, employment facilitation, and post-placement support.
