SDP in IECT inaugurated at DIC, Namsai

NAMSAI, Oct 16: In a significant move to enhance the employability and digital competence of youth in the State, a Skill Development Training Programme in Information, Electronics and Communication Technology (IECT) was inaugurated at the District Industries Centre, Department of Industries, Namsai on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the programme, Namsai Deputy Commissioner C R Khampa emphasized the importance of skill-based education, and urged the participants to make full use of the opportunity to build a better future. He also highlighted the growing demand for digital literacy and Computer hardware-related skills in today’s job market, and encouraged the youth to become job creators, instead of job seekers.

Implemented by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Itanagar with support from the Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (GoAP), this initiative is a part of the state government’s continued commitment to foster technical capacity building among unemployed youth and bridge the skill gap in emerging technology sectors.

Also present on the occasion were R K Bigensana Singh, Director-in-Charge, NIELIT Itanagar, and Nondo Doka, Asstt Director DIC (Dept of Industries).

The programme aims to train 80 unemployed youth from Namsai district in three carefully selected, NSQF-aligned courses delivered by NIELIT.

The first batch comprising 20 participants commenced their training today. The remaining participants will be inducted in subsequent batches in the coming weeks.

This initiative is expected to significantly contribute towards the socio-economic development of the region by equipping the youth with relevant digital skills, opening up opportunities in both public and private sectors, and promoting entrepreneurship.

The event concluded with an interactive session between the trainees and the dignitaries, during which participants expressed their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and build a future in the digital economy.
