ITANAGAR, Oct 16: The Sessions Court, Yupia, has summoned former Home Minister Bamang Felix to appear before the court on December 9 in connection with a disproportionate assets case filed against him in 2022.
The petition was filed by Tai Shiva, Tarh Atung, and Kipa Natung, who have alleged large-scale misuse of public funds during Felix’s tenure.
Addressing reporters at the Arunachal Press Club here today, petitioner Tai Shiva claimed that since 2022, multiple complaints have been lodged against the former minister for allegedly misusing around Rs 455 crore from the 14th and 15th Finance Commissions, particularly within the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Departments, with the Chief Secretary-cum-Chief Vigilance Officer and the Special Investigation Cell (SIC).
Shiva further alleged that another FIR had been filed against Felix for the illegal appointment of various posts in the Panchayati Raj Department, as well as for allegedly amassing properties in Papum Pare district and the capital region. He also accused the former minister of collecting money from contractual employees of the department under the pretext of job regularization.
Expressing hope for an impartial investigation, Shiva urged the Chief Minister to remove Felix from his current post as Advisor to ensure a free and fair inquiry into the allegations.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach Bamang Felix for his comments were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to phone calls.
