PASIGHAT, Oct 16: An awareness programme on ‘GST Reforms in Agriculture and Mission for Atmanirbar in Pulses’ was organized by the College of Agriculture (CoA), Pasighat on Wednesday.
Organized by Asstt Professor Dr Senpon Ngomle and funded by ICAR – IIPR – Kanpur, the program brought together over 200 participants including dignitaries, experts, farmers, students and stakeholders.
Key speakers were Vijay Kumar Gupta, National Co-Convenor, NEXT-GEN GST Reforms, In charge -North East; Kaling Moyong, State BJP president; Tojir Kadu, MLA Nari-Koyu and Co-Convenor of NEXT-GEN GST Reforms, Arunachal Pradesh and Prof Sanjay Swami, Dean CoA.
They highlighted the benefits of Next-GEN GST reforms like tax structure, increased efficiency and a boost to economic growth. Citizens can expect affordable healthcare, education and daily essentials with reduced GST rates on life-saving drugs, health insurance, and educational services, GST reforms in agriculture, as well as the Mission for Atmanirbhar in Pulses which focuses on achieving self-sufficiency in pulse production and improving farmers’ incomes.
Other attendees included Dunggoli Libang, State BJP vice president; Kame Yangfo, State president ST Morcha; Okili Linggi, State vice president Kisan Morcha; Tebo Linggi, State vice president Yuva Morcha, and Wangren Kuma Lungwang from ABVP- East Siang.
