DHTE -led high-level team inspects RUSA, PM-USHA projects in Western Arunachal

Itanagar, Oct 19: A high-level inspection team headed by Director of Higher and Technical Education-cum-State Project Director (RUSA/PM-USHA), Dr Milorai Modi, along with State Nodal Officer (RUSA/PM-USHA) Minto Ete, undertook an extensive tour of higher educational institutions across western Arunachal Pradesh from October 15 to 18. The visit aimed to monitor and review the progress of projects implemented under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) and Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) schemes.

The inspection began on October 15 at Govt College, Bomdila, where Dr Modi inaugurated a newly constructed convention centre funded under the RUSA scheme. The team inspected various projects, including the automation of the college library, and expressed satisfaction over the quality of work. Dr Modi advised the college authorities to ensure optimal utilization and maintenance of all assets created under the scheme for the benefit of students and faculty.

On October 16, the team visited Dorjee Khandu Govt College, Tawang, and reviewed the ongoing construction of the multipurpose cultural hall under the PM-USHA scheme. The team suggested minor modifications in the architectural drawings to meet practical requirements and directed the executing agency, RWD, to maintain strict standards of quality and quantity. The team also inspected ongoing works at the Polytechnic College, Tawang, and interacted with project officials on progress parameters.

The inspection continued on October 17 at Govt College, Dirang, where Dr Modi interacted with faculty members and students. Emphasizing the importance of sincerity, dedication, and hard work, he urged students to focus on academic excellence and personal growth for a brighter future.

Concluding the tour on October 18, the team visited the Govt Model Degree College, Seppa, and inspected projects implemented under the RUSA scheme. Dr Modi instructed the executing agency, PWD, to expedite the clearance of pending bills through the SNA Sparsh system and adhere to the project completion timeline.

Highlighting the performance-linked nature of the RUSA and PM-USHA funding mechanisms, Dr Modi reminded the officials that the release of funds is strictly based on output and timely reporting through the national portal. He cautioned that delays would not be condoned and urged the executing agencies to ensure the completion of all projects within the current financial year — the final grace period granted by the Ministry of Education, Govt of India to the State.
