Itanagar, Oct 19: Chief Minister Pema Khandu held an engaging interaction with Members of the House of Councillors, Keisuke Yamamoto and Sachiko Yamamoto, during his visit to Japan, focusing on ways to strengthen the Arunachal Pradesh-Japan partnership through collaboration in sustainable development and people-to-people exchange.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged ideas on enhancing cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, technology, education, tourism, and cultural exchange. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Japanese dignitaries for their warmth, hospitality, and shared vision for deeper India-Japan friendship.
CM Khandu, accompanied by MLA Oken Tayeng, also met a group of Arunachali youths currently working in Japan across various professional sectors. He described the interaction as “inspiring,” noting that their experiences and insights would help the state government in framing effective policies for overseas employment and skill development.
The Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the Arunachali workforce for showcasing the state’s talent and work ethic on the global stage and reiterated his government’s commitment to facilitating international career opportunities for the state’s youth.
Khandu’s visit underscores Arunachal Pradesh’s growing engagement with Japan in fostering mutual understanding, human resource development, and sustainable growth, in line with the broader vision of the India-Japan strategic partnership, officials said.
