Aalo, Oct 22: The District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meeting of West Siang district was held on Wednesday at the DC office premises here to review the progress of various ongoing Central and State flagship programmes.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Liyi Bagra advised all departmental officers to go beyond presenting mere achievements and instead focus on identifying the challenges and bottlenecks encountered during implementation. He directed the officers to update the District Development Index (DDI) and submit it to the District Planning Officer (DPO) for onward submission to the Government.
To ensure better coordination and preparation, Bagra instructed all heads of departments (HoDs) to submit their PowerPoint presentations to the DPO three to four days prior to future DLMC meetings. He emphasized that departmental reviews should provide a balanced overview of progress and issues, enabling the district administration to take timely corrective action.
Highlighting the immense tourism potential of West Siang, the DC directed the Tourism Department to convene a meeting with all relevant stakeholders to chart out a roadmap for promoting the district as a tourism destination. He also informed that a separate meeting with Executive Engineers of various departments will soon be held to assess the progress of infrastructure-related works.
Addressing the gathering, ZPC Tumpe Ete urged all HoDs to work in close coordination with PRI leaders to ensure effective implementation of developmental initiatives and holistic progress of the district.
The day-long meeting was attended by ADC (Yomcha) Gyamar Amte, ZPMs, HoDs, and other officials. (DIPRO)
