Itanagar, Oct 23: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who is on an official tour to Japan, held a series of meetings with senior political leaders and business representatives in Japan to strengthen the India–Japan partnership through enhanced cultural ties, skill development, and sustainable infrastructure cooperation.
During his interaction with Yasutoshi Nishimura, Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Japan–India Parliamentary Friendship League, Khandu discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and explore joint initiatives in cultural and developmental sectors.
The Chief Minister also met Toshiaki Nishikawa, Chairman and CEO of ASEAN Group Co. Ltd., who reaffirmed his company’s commitment to promoting Japanese language learning and skill development programs in India to increase workforce collaboration between the two countries.
In another engagement, Khandu held a luncheon meeting with Itsunori Onodera, Chair of the Policy Research Council and the Tax System Research Council, along with Yoshiaki Wada and Rui Matsukawa. Discussions focused on deepening cooperation in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a stronger India–Japan partnership.
Khandu also interacted with representatives of Sankyo Frontier Co. Ltd., whose innovative modular construction technology offers sustainable, cost-effective solutions suitable for remote and high-altitude regions of the Himalayas.
The Chief Minister termed his visit “meaningful and productive,” reaffirming Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to expanding collaboration with Japan across key developmental sectors.
