Abotani Vidya Niketan observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2025

Naharlagun, Oct 29: Abotani Vidya Niketan, Pachin Secondary School, Kamak Nagar Pachin Campus, Naharlagun—run by Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS) and affiliated to Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan—joined the nation in observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from October 27 to November 2, under the theme “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility,” as initiated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and CBSE.

A special programme was organized on Wednesday to mark the observance. Gracing the event, former Adviser to Chief Minister and patron of ASVS, Tai Tagak, in his keynote address, emphasized that vigilance is not merely a rule or regulation but a way of life rooted in truth, discipline, and moral courage. He said a vigilant individual can prevent corruption and wrongdoing before they occur, and urged students to become “vigilant citizens” who uphold honesty and fairness in all walks of life.

Tagak further underlined the role of teachers in nurturing integrity and moral values through teaching, co-curricular activities, and personal example. He encouraged the school to integrate value-based lessons on vigilance and good governance as part of regular moral education. He also suggested organizing awareness sessions, debates, poster-making, slogan writing, and wall displays to help students internalize the importance of transparency and ethical conduct.

ASVS secretary Tumge Lollen, in his address, lauded the school’s initiative, noting that vigilance awareness fosters a strong moral foundation and helps shape responsible citizens. Sukumaran K, State Coordinator, highlighted that ASVS institutions across Arunachal Pradesh are committed to Vidya Bharati’s vision of “man-making and nation-building education” through such meaningful observances.

The week-long programme is being held under the guidance of the school Principal and Vice Principal, with enthusiastic participation from students and staff. Various competitions and classroom activities on ethics, anti-corruption measures, and moral vigilance are being conducted throughout the week.

The event concluded with an Integrity Pledge, where all participants vowed to uphold honesty, fairness, and accountability in their personal and professional lives. The Vigilance Awareness Week will formally conclude on November 2, with a closing ceremony featuring certificate distribution and a reaffirmation of the collective commitment to integrity and transparency.
