ITANAGAR, Oct 29: The family members of former ICR Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom demanded proper and adequate security for him, claiming that he was threatened by some protesters while being produced before the court on Monday last.
While citing that Potom had carried out several eviction drives involving structures belonging to high-profile individuals in Itanagar Capital Region during his tenure as the DC, Toko Puna expressed concern that some individuals might be attempting to tarnish Potom’s image through a pre-planned move.
“Being law-abiding citizens, our family will accept the court’s judgment. However, we appeal that the officer’s name should not be dragged in social media before the trial is concluded,” requested Puna at a press conference here today.
He further conveyed the family’s condolences and prayers for late Gomchu Yekar, and urged people to refrain from using words like ‘avenging’ on social media platforms while the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already taken over the investigation of the case.
