YINGKIONG, Nov 2: Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang has commended the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS), Yingkiong Unit, for its endeavour towards empowerment of women in the district.
Speaking as chief guest at an event, organised by the APWWS (Upper Siang) at its newly inaugurated office here on Saturday, the DC hailed the Org for its continuous efforts and commitment towards the welfare and empowerment of women in the district.
The DC called upon the new APWWS (Yingkiong) president Kasimang Jopir Pazing and her team to work collectively with unity and sincerity for the upliftment of women in Upper Siang district.
Epi Kapu, JMFC cum Civil Judge (Jr Div) Yingkiong, the guest of honour, in her address, reminded the members of the gravity of their responsibilities, saying, “This is a great responsibility. You now hold the duty to uplift women, address their issues, and ensure their welfare.”
She further encouraged the members to work with unity and compassion, stating, “Wherever we go, we should strive to act like a needle that connects everyone, not like scissors that divide.”
APWWS Yingkiong president stated that she had made efforts to include members from various sectors such as health, legal, senior advisory, and young women representatives so that the society becomes stronger and more effective in working for women’s empowerment. She urged women to come forward and share their concerns without hesitation and assured that the APWWS Yingkiong team will always remain dedicated to safeguarding the rights and welfare of women and children in Upper Siang. Outgoing President Smti Kalpana Perme Sitek addressed the gathering, sharing highlights of her tenure and extending best wishes to the new team. She assured her continued support and encouraged the members to carry forward the mission of women’s welfare with even greater zeal and awareness.
General Secretary Smti Oseng Taron delivered the welcome address, while Vice President Smti Nepang Siboh Lipir proposed the vote of thanks.
