‘Bid to uphold the principles of unity, integrity, and self-reliance, the pillars of a strong and progressive India’

PASIGHAT, Nov 2: The 5th India Reserve Battalion (IRBn), Pasighat in collaboration with the District Police, East Siang observed the National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) 2025 at the Battalion headquarters here, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and the architect of national integration, on Friday.

Held under the national theme ‘Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat (EBAB)’, the celebration reaffirmed the collective resolve to strengthen unity, integrity, and self-reliance across the nation.

As part of the celebration, a ‘Run for Unity’ mini marathon was organized with categories of 5 km, 2.5 km, and 1.5 km, witnessing the active participation of over 190 individuals, including students, women, and personnel of the 5th IRBn.

The event aimed to promote the spirit of unity in diversity and highlight the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in fostering a united and resilient India.

Following the marathon, a prize distribution ceremony was held to felicitate the winners, and participation certificates were presented to the participants.

The event concluded with an inspiring address by the Superintendent of Police, East Siang, who highlighted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s unparalleled contribution to national integration, and urged all citizens to uphold the principles of unity, integrity, and self-reliance — the pillars of a strong and progressive India.

The program successfully embodied the message of “Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and served as a reminder that India’s true strength lies in its unity amidst diversity. (DIPRO)
