EMRS, Khela holds Matri Sammelan to celebrate the spirit of motherhood

ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) Khela (Tirap district), run by the Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS), affiliated to Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan, New Delhi, organized a Matri Sammelan (Mother’s Conference) under the banner of Sapta Shakti Sangam with great enthusiasm and devotion at its school premises.

The event celebrated the spirit of motherhood, unity, and women empowerment, aiming to strengthen the bond between parents—especially mothers—and the school community.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by K C Lowangcha, DDSE Tirap.

The lighting of the lamp symbolized the removal of darkness and the spread of knowledge and positivity. A Sloka recitation by teacher Yasum Saroh set a serene and spiritual tone for the event. This was followed by a welcome song and a Matri Shakti song by students, expressing love, gratitude, and respect for mothers.

In her address, the DDSE emphasized that one of the major reasons behind children turning towards drug abuse can be addressed and prevented through the love, guidance, and sacrifices of parents—especially mothers. The chief guest highlighted the influence of mothers in shaping the moral, emotional, and spiritual foundation of the younger generation, calling them the true pillars of a healthy and progressive society.

L Gautam shared her insights on nurturing children, comparing it to the growth of a tree where care, patience, and a clean environment are essential for healthy development. She also stressed the importance of environmental cleanliness and the responsibility of every family to maintain harmony with nature for the well-being of future generations.

Addressing the gathering, Oder Gao, State Convenor Sapta Shakti Sangam, explained the aims and objectives of the initiative and highlighted the importance of empowering women in family, society, and nation-building.

In her inspiring address, Jumyo Ori emphasized the vital role of mothers in nurturing strong families and contributing to a progressive society.

A Quiz competition for mothers brought joy and excitement, showcasing their enthusiasm, wisdom, and active involvement. The felicitation, meant for mothers and the winners of the State EMRS Fest, was among the most heart-touching moments, acknowledging the strength and encouragement mothers provide to their children.

The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of EMRS Khela for organizing such an empowering and meaningful programme for mothers. Heartfelt sharing of personal experiences by mothers added warmth and emotional depth to the event.

Towards the end, all participants took a pledge to honour, respect, and uphold the dignity of motherhood.
