Itanagar, Nov 6: In a gesture reflecting the strong bond between the armed forces and the civilian administration, the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, donated a well-equipped ambulance to the 56 Infantry Division, 188 Military Hospital, MES Likabali on Thursday.
The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare facilities and promote camaraderie between the Army and civilian institutions through collaborative use of resources for meaningful and purposeful outcomes.
The formal handover ceremony, held at Likabali, was initiated by state’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Biyuram Wahge, and coordinated by the Mission Director (NHM) Marge Sora, and Lower Siang District Medical Officer (DMO) Dr Nyage Geyi. The event was attended by Brig Vikram Lawand, Deputy GOC, 56 Infantry Division; Col Takio Teyi, Commanding Officer, 188 Military Hospital; Dr Tai Riso, DRCHO; and Dr Senpe Taipoida, DANO.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nyage Geyi said that the donation of the ambulance symbolizes the enduring bond between the Army and the civilian population. “Donating an ambulance is a mark of strong bonding between the Army and civilians, and it will benefit both the Armed Forces and the local communities,” he stated.
Receiving the keys, Col Takio Teyi expressed gratitude to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for the timely support. He appreciated the initiative and expressed optimism about future collaborations between the armed forces and civil administration. “This will not only enhance healthcare services but also strengthen mutual cooperation, ensuring opportunities for all sections of society,” he added.
The event highlighted the shared commitment of both the Army and the State Government towards improving healthcare access and fostering enduring civil-military relations in Arunachal Pradesh.
