Itanagar, Nov 7: Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein have congratulated Dr Hui Tag, Professor of Botany and Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), on being conferred the SPR Young Scientist Award 2025 by the Society for Plant Research (SPR) India.
The award recognizes Prof Tag’s outstanding contributions in plant sciences, ethnobotany, and traditional knowledge.
CM Khandu expressed delight over the achievement, saying, “Prof Hui Tag has been conferred the SPR Young Scientist Award 2025 for his outstanding contributions in plant sciences, ethnobotany and traditional knowledge. Heartiest congratulations to Prof Tag for bringing laurel to our state and inspiring the younger generation through his exemplary work.”
Dy CM Mein also extended his best wishes, stating, “This recognition is a testament to his outstanding contributions in the fields of plant sciences, ethnobotany, and traditional knowledge. I wish him continued success in his journey of scientific excellence and in preserving our rich traditional heritage.”
Both leaders lauded Prof Tag’s contribution to scientific research and traditional knowledge preservation, saying his achievement reflects the growing academic and research excellence emerging from Arunachal Pradesh.
