Join forces to realize PM’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision: Speaker

ITANAGAR, Nov 8: State Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte called upon the young minds to join forces to transform Prime Minister Narandra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ into a reality.

He was addressing the students of Don Bosco College (DBC) on the concluding day of its college week called Festorama 2025 at the DBC premises near here today.

Speaking as chief guest on the occasion, Pongte pitched that college week celebrations are an important part of academic growth of students. He told the students that they can make a career out of the sports, literary and cultural activities they participated in.

He asked the students, exemplifying the NCC, to make use of the opportunity provided by the college through various clubs, cells and movements of the college. The Speaker exhorted the students to maintain the constitutional values of the country. He also urged them to be a proud Indian as they are part of the greatest democracy and the fastest growing economy of the world.

Further, he stated that the present government stands for transparency and competence.

In his speech, Fr Joseph Pampackal, Provincial (Dimapur Province), asked the students to aim higher and build a better society. He asked them to remember the spirit of sacrifice, discipline, teamwork and creativity that they learnt and displayed during the college week. Speaking about the college, Fr Pampackal recalled the humble beginnings of the college in 2002 and since then how it has been shaping minds and hearts of students from Arunachal Pradesh and beyond.

He appreciated the 38 rank holders of University Examination but reminded everyone that the higher one climbs, greater the responsibility becomes. Further, he asked all stakeholders of the college to sustain the momentum.

DBC Principal Fr Jose George enlightened the dignitaries on the event, eagerly awaited by the collegians every year.

Coming to the competition part, Red House was adjudged the Champions of Festorama 2025, followed by Yellow House (2nd) and Blue House (3rd). The Best Captain (Male) was awarded to Lobsang Lama of Yellow House and Best Captain (Female) was awarded to Yumlam Kakang of Red House. Moreover, Blue House emerged as the Best Disciplined House.
