Sardar@150 Unity March held at Pasighat to celebrate ‘Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat’

PASIGHAT, Nov 12: To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister, a vibrant ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ was organised in Pasighat, East Siang district on Tuesday, celebrating the ideals of unity and self-reliance.

The march, led by State BJP president Kaling Moyong and Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, witnessed enthusiastic participation of over 250 people, including students, BJP leaders and community members. It began from Mirku Secondary School playground and concluded at Tigra-Mirbuk Dere, traversing through Mirku and Mirsam villages.

Prominent participants included MLAs Ninong Ering and Zingnu Namchoom, ZPC Olen Rome, Pawan Kumar, Gumsen Lolen, and Dui Gao, among others. The event was coordinated by District BJP president Mirem Komut and general secretary-cum-convenor Tayo Amar.

As part of the celebration, a tree plantation drive under the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ was conducted, promoting environmental conservation.

Speaking on the occasion, Tapir Gao said the march reflected the nation’s unity and strength envisioned by Sardar Patel, reaffirming the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.

Kaling Moyong highlighted that the initiative, part of a nationwide campaign, symbolised Patel’s legacy of national integration under the vision of Viksit Bharat.

MLA Zingnu Namchoom, State Convenor of the Sardar@150 Unity March, described Patel as the Iron Man of India, whose decisive leadership unified the nation’s princely states. He added that the abrogation of Article 370 fulfilled Patel’s dream of complete national integration.

Earlier, Moyong and Gao jointly flagged off the march and administered the unity pledge to participants.
