PASIGHAT, Nov 12: Former Advisor to the Chief Minister and patron of Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS), Tai Tagak, attended the National Education Day celebration at Donyi Polo Vidya Niketan (DPVN), Pasighat.
The event was also attended by Sukumaran K, State Coordinator, ASVS Vidya Bharati Arunachal Pradesh; Vidhya Kant Kha, State Incharge (Academics & Examinations), ASVS; and Olut Rukbo, State Coordinator, KGBV Project, ASVS. The dignitaries paid rich tribute to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister and a pioneer of modern education in the country.
Addressing the gathering, Tagak emphasized that “the purpose of education is to prepare the mind, not just to earn a living.” He said education must foster empowerment, equality, and character development, forming the bedrock of a strong democracy. He urged students to practice SWOT analysis—understanding their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats—to adapt to a rapidly changing world and build a brighter future.
Highlighting this year’s theme, “Inclusive Quality Education”, the speakers underscored India’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to meaningful learning for every child. They noted that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has brought transformative reforms focused on value-based, holistic, and nation-building education.
The programme concluded with a collective reaffirmation of the ideals of knowledge, equality, and lifelong learning — the guiding vision of National Education Day 2025, inspiring a future of enlightenment and empowerment for all.
