YW Ringu reiterates the importance of 3 A’s to achieve objectives of Financial Inclusion

ITANAGAR, Nov 12: A Special District Level Bankers’ Committee (DLBC) and District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting was convened at the DC’s conference hall, District Civil Secretariat, Changlang today.

Chaired by Commissioner Finance (GoAP) Y W Ringu, the meeting was attended by Marpe Riba (ADC Changlang HQs); Kamal Roy (AGM NABARD); administrative officers; Lead District Manager (SBI); Branch Managers of various banks; HoDs from line departments; Block Mission Managers of ArSRLM; and officials from CCRMS.

During the review, the Commissioner took stock of key banking and developmental indicators of the district, including the Credit-Deposit Ratio, Priority Sector Advances, SHG Bank Linkage progress, and implementation status of schemes such as PM SVANidhi, PMFME, DDUSY, ANBY, ANKY, ANPY, and AMPPY. The progress of Social Security Schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY, as well as the Potential Linked Credit Plan, Financial Inclusion initiatives, and Bakijai cases, were also reviewed in detail.

Ringu urged all Bank Managers to prioritize lending to the priority sector and expedite disposal of pending cases under the AtmaNirbhar schemes, which are key credit-linked flagship programmes of the State government. She emphasized the need for close coordination between the Banks and line departments to achieve the targets within stipulated timelines, and suggested preparing a checklist to minimize queries at the branch level.

Highlighting the importance of transparency and proactive service, the Commissioner advised bank officials to guide rural customers in claiming unclaimed deposits and ensure Aadhaar linkage of all bank accounts. She reiterated the importance of the three A’s — Awareness, Accessibility, and Action — for achieving the objectives of Financial Inclusion.

Ringu also called upon the government officials to perform their duties with integrity and impartiality, extending all possible assistance to rural citizens for their socio-economic upliftment.

Further, she appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders for their contribution to rural prosperity, and encouraged continued efforts to reach the unreached.
