Children’s Day-150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ celebrated in befitting way

NAMSAI, Nov 14: Children’s Day along with 150 years of National Song “Vande Mataram” was celebrated today in the District Library, Namsai in a befitting manner.

To mark the occasion joyous and memorable, various literary events viz drawing, quiz and essay writing competitions were organized in which around 80 students from different schools enthusiastically participated. The vibrant drawings and paintings created by the children captivated the audience.

Librarian S Mukhopadhyay highlighted the significance of celebrating Children’s Day and the 150 years of Vande Mataram,” emphasizing its importance for both children and society. He encouraged students to make the best use of library resources to gain knowledge and grow into responsible citizens.

Delivering his keynote address, Namsai Deputy Commissioner C R Khampa urged the students and youth to follow the ideals of the nation’s builders, freedom fighters, and all those who sacrificed their lives for the country. He stressed that hard work and perseverance are the keys to success.

The DC further encouraged students to utilize their free time in the library to develop a habit of reading and learning.

The program was attended by Namsai ADC NK Namchoom, Deputy Secretary Div Com (E/Z) R Karlo, AC Sarah E Borang, and several other officers and teachers from various schools.
