PM Modi lays foundation stone for EMRS Kombo in West Siang

Aalo, Nov 15: The foundation stone for the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Kombo in West Siang district was ceremonially laid today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conference.

The school is being established under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India, with the objective of providing quality education and holistic development opportunities to tribal students of the region.

The virtual ceremony was attended by State Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik, and Chief Minister Pema Khandu. In their addresses, the dignitaries underscored the importance of strengthening educational infrastructure in tribal-majority areas and emphasised that the EMRS initiative would empower students with modern academic, residential, and extracurricular facilities.

The proposed school at Kombo is expected to benefit students from across West Siang district, offering them a conducive learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art amenities.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the State Government for their collaborative efforts in bringing this key institution to West Siang.

Among those present at the DC Conference Hall, Aalo, to witness the programme were ZPC Tumpe Ete, CO Aalo, ZPMs, public representatives, and local residents.
