Itanagar, Dec 2: Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended warm greetings to the people of the State, especially to the Divyang brethren, on the eve of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
In his message, the Governor said the day should deepen public understanding of disability-related challenges and inspire stronger collective support to enable persons with disabilities to face life’s difficulties with hope, dignity and confidence.
He observed that the greatest barrier for any individual is often not a physical limitation, but the emotional and mental constraints imposed by society and circumstance.
Human progress, he said, is driven by two key forces — self-confidence and optimism. With sensitivity, encouragement and appropriate support systems, individuals can transcend physical challenges.
The Governor emphasized that families, communities and society at large play a crucial role in ensuring the equal participation of persons with disabilities in social and economic life. Expressing confidence in the State’s cultural values, he said that Arunachal Pradesh would continue to stand by its Divyang brothers and sisters and make them equal partners in the development of society.
He also urged every section of society to commit themselves to creating meaningful livelihood opportunities and sustainable avenues of growth for persons with disabilities.
On this important day, the Governor appealed to all to recognize, respect and celebrate the abilities and contributions of the Divyang community, a communiqué from Raj Bhavan said.
