Ensure PR polls conducted in a free, fair & transparent way: W/Siang DEO

AALO, Dec 3: A refresher interaction and training programme for the Presiding Officers and Polling Officers for the Panchayati Raj Election of West Siang district was held at Gumin Kiin here today.

The training programme was conducted under the supervision of Techu Aran, DC-cum-DEO (PR) West Siang, and Mabi Taipodia Jini, ADC-cum-DPDO (PR).

The DEO advised the presiding and polling officers to ensure that the PR election is conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner. He stressed the importance of maintaining zero errors and strictly following all guidelines of the PR election. He also instructed the polling teams to remain accessible to various polling agents.

Master Trainers - Kento Ngomdir and Jarnya Boje - imparted detailed training on the entire polling process, including the proper and systematic handling of ballot boxes and the correct filling up of various mandatory forms.

Earlier, the DPDO welcomed the polling teams, and urged them to conduct the ensuing Panchayati Raj election smoothly and successfully.

A total of 371 polling officials attended the training-cum-refresher interaction programme.

On the same day and at the same venue, Jumkar Karbi, Assistant Commissioner (PR)-cum Returning Officer for 3-3A Pushi Aalo West, 4-4A Aalo West, and 5-5A Pubu Yombu Aalo West, conducted a meeting with various contesting candidates (ZPMs and GPMs) at the DC Conference Hall, Aalo.

Chairing the meeting, Karbi told all contesting candidates to strictly adhere to the election guidelines.

Giogi Rimi, CO-cum-Nodal Officer, highlighted important instructions for voters on election duty and also briefed the house about the Model Code of Conduct.

Jumli Padu, Nodal Officer for Election Expenditure, explained the expenditure guidelines to be followed during the election.

The meeting was also attended by sector magistrates, and circle officers. (DIPRO)
