Itanagar, Dec 7: The 3rd Arunachal Rang Mahotsav 2025 concluded on a memorable note with the staging of the acclaimed Manipuri play “Song of the Nymphs” by the Chorus Repertory Theatre — a heartfelt tribute to the legendary theatre maestro, Ratan Thiyam, on Saturday night.

In just three years, Arunachal Rang Mahotsav has emerged as a powerful theatre movement, reaching the international stage, driven entirely by homegrown young talents. This remarkable journey reflects the growing passion for theatre among the youth of Arunachal Pradesh and the rising cultural vibrancy of the state, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who attended the closing ceremony of the ARM 2025, said in a social media post.

The closing ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including National Award-winning actor Seema Biswas, Chairman of Writers Academy Trust, Visakhapatnam, V V Ramana Murthy, Director of the School of Drama and Fine Arts, Calicut University, Prof Avinash Pillai, and renowned theatre director Prof Anuradha Kapur. Their presence truly enriched the festival and inspired budding artists.

The participation of eminent personalities such as Ila Arun, Shekhar Suman, Geetika Tyagi, Rakesh Bedi and film director K K Raina added immense value to the event and deeply motivated the young artists of the state. Their support in promoting Arunachal Rang Mahotsav is sincerely appreciated — they remain proud ambassadors of ARM, Mein, also the Chairman of the Arunachal Rang Mahotsav, said.

The overwhelming response from the people of Arunachal Pradesh is a clear indication that a new chapter in the state’s theatre movement has begun. While the festival concluded today, the journey of Arunachal’s theatre has only just begun and will continue to grow stronger with each passing year, he added.
