ITANAGAR, Dec 11: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) has set up a Legal Aid Clinic (LAC) at the Dept of Sainik Wellfare-cum-Rajya Sainik Board under NALSA Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana, 2025 on the occasion of Human Rights Day.
APSLSA member secretary Yomge Ado inaugurated the LAC, in presence of Air Cmde (Retd) RD Musabi, Director-cum-Secretary Department of Sainik Welfare-cum-Rajya Sainik Board, Arunachal Pradesh, ex-servicemen from various districts, and advocates among others.
The LAC will provide free legal services under the scheme which was launched on 18th July, 2025 and to establish the legal aid clinic at Kendriya, Rajya and Zila Sainik Welfare Board to provide free and competent legal services and assistance to defence personnel, ex-servicemen and their dependents, in matters such as property disputes, welfare schemes, matrimonial disputes, and other legal matters.
NALSA Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana, 2025, is a significant initiative of the National Legal Services Authority that seeks to provide competent, timely, and meaningful legal assistance to our defence personnel, ex-servicemen, their families and dependents. Through the Legal Aid Clinic the defence personnel serve the nation in the hardest of terrains and at the most unforgiving frontiers, often under constant threat and sacrifice. Their families, too, endure silent struggles, marked by uncertainty, isolation, and limited access to legal support. Their strength and resilience deserve both recognition and institutional support.
Speaking on the occasion, member secretary Ado, and advocates Aruna Rai, Taying Nachup and Jaya Doji highlighted the roles, functions and importance of legal aid clinics & Legal Services Authorities, NALSA’s various schemes, human rights, Para legal volunteers, and the grassroots workers, who act as a bridge between legal services institutions and the common people.
The scheme which was launched by the then Chief Justice of India, Justice B R Gavai on 18th July, 2025 is a significant step towards fulfilling that duty. This initiative is not merely a welfare measure; it is a moral assertion of nation gratitude.
The ‘Theme Poem’ of Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana, 2025 along with the message of the then CJI B R Gavai, Patron-in-Chief of NALSA, was also read out by APSLSA Supdt Kasi Dai.
