Pioneering Agricultural Officer Nang Pura Mitika Namchoom dies at 80

ITANAGAR, Dec 11: Nang Pura Mitika Namchoom, retired Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, passed away on Wednesday, at the age of 80 after a prolonged illness.

A respected elder and a highly regarded public servant, she had been bedridden for the past three years following a stroke.

She was the elder sister of former Namsai MLA Chow Pingthika Namchoom.

A trailblazer in the field of agriculture, Nang Pura Mitika Namchoom served with distinction throughout her career in the state’s Agriculture Department, eventually rising to the position of Deputy Director.

Her commitment to advancing agricultural practices and supporting the farming community left an enduring mark on the sector. Colleagues and farmers across the state fondly remember her professionalism, dedication, and compassion.

Her passing is a profound loss to her family, the people of Namsai, and the fraternity of retired government officials in Arunachal Pradesh. She leaves behind a legacy of service and community-minded leadership.
