LIKABALI, Dec 17: Ahead of the counting day scheduled for December 20, the Lower Siang District Election Officer (PR) has arranged a training schedule to impart necessary training to the appointed Counting Supervisors and Assistants who shall be engaged in the task of taking up the counting of votes polled on 15th of this month for the 22-Lower Siang Zilla Parishad in the ongoing Panchayat Election 2025 in the district.
Altogether, 18 Counting Supervisors and 38 Counting Assistants attended the training program at the conference hall of PWD Circuit House here today.
Counting of votes for the district shall be taken up at two different designated counting centres. The counting of votes for the segments falling under the Nari Koyu Assembly constituency shall be done in 6 distinct counting tables at the Hingen Hall of the ADC Office, Nari and for those falling under the Likabali AC in 8 distinct tables at the auditorium of Govt HS School Likabali from 0800 hours on Saturday. Apart from this one additional counting table in each counting centre has been arranged for counting votes cast by Voters on Election Duty.
In addition, a dry run on counting of votes has been fixed on 19th, on the eve of the counting day, to further familiarize the appointed officials on practical simulation of actual counting activity.
The ADC cum Returning Officer Nari Ainstein Koyu, and Assistant Commissioner Janes Mary Tayeng imparted training through comprehensive PPT presentations. A brief yet exhaustive lesson on various aspects of counting processes was imparted while considering the basic tenets of the relevant governing Acts. A Practical drill on handling the polled ballot boxes was done by the Master Trainer T Ete.
Meanwhile, the Likabali Headquarter Additional Deputy Commissioner cum District Panchayat Development Officer Mokar Riba gave the keynote address and set out the required curriculum of the training and appealed to every official engaged in counting duty to get the concept very loud and clear before actually taking up the task in hands to avoid possible complicacies.
YINGKIONG: As a preparation for the upcoming Panchayat Poll 2025 counting day scheduled for December 20, a training programme for Counting Supervisors and Assistants was conducted at the designated counting centre, multipurpose hall here today.
Presiding over the programme, Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (PR) Talo Jerang elaborated on the roles and responsibilities of counting personnel. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining accuracy, transparency, and strict adherence to prescribed procedures, along with necessary precautions to be observed at the counting centres.
The training was imparted by Master Trainers Sanjay Singh, Agriculture Development Officer, and Amit Dihider, ASO (Agri), who provided hands-on guidance to ensure smooth and error-free conduct of the counting process. RO, ARO, all counting supervisors and counting assistants attended the training.
