Itanagar, Jan 7: State Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting with key stakeholders and line departments to review security preparedness and administrative arrangements for the Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR) of the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project.
The meeting was held in the presence of Director General of Police (DGP) Anand Mohan, Commissioner (Hydropower) Sonam Chombay, and the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of Siang and Upper Siang districts.
During the deliberations, the Chief Secretary stated that the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project is of strategic importance for both the nation and the state and is being monitored at the highest level. He stressed the need for focused, coordinated and time-bound action by all concerned departments to ensure smooth progress of the project’s preparatory activities.
Emphasis was also laid on conducting extensive outreach in villages to disseminate positive, factual and transparent information about the project, with the objective of addressing concerns and building public awareness.
An Action Plan with clear timelines was finalized for all key issues discussed, including security arrangements, inter-departmental coordination, and community engagement, to facilitate timely completion of the Pre-Feasibility Report.
