AR’s Khonsa Battalion-hosted Winter Camp draws to a close

KHONSA, Jan 10: As part of its continued efforts towards youth engagement, character building and holistic development, Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a Winter Camp at Assam Rifles Public School, Khonsa from January 6 to January 9.

A total of 150 students from various schools of Khonsa participated in the event.

The Winter Camp aimed at promoting physical fitness, discipline, leadership qualities, teamwork and moral values among young learners. A wide range of activities were conducted during the camp, including physical training, self-defence training, Zumba fitness sessions, team-building exercises, educational sessions, games and cultural activities.

In addition, students actively participated in arts and crafts sessions, survival cooking demonstrations, basic first aid training and tent pitching exercises, which enhanced their practical life skills and self-reliance. An outdoor event to Pangsau Pass was also organized, providing students with experiential learning and exposure to the region’s natural and historical significance.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG), HQ 25 Sector also interacted and inspired the students and sensitized them about leadership, discipline, national values and service to the nation. The camp also featured learning adventures such as visit to Khonsa Museum, Drawing & Painting workshop and Dog show.

Throughout the camp, interaction sessions with Assam Rifles personnel motivated the students to adopt a healthy lifestyle, strong moral values and a sense of responsibility towards society, encouraging them to pursue their goals with confidence and dedication. The students enjoyed various fun loving activities including Movie screening, Talent Hunt Competition, Camp fire and fun games and competition which aimed at inculcating team spirit, national pride and entertainment, etc.

The successful conduct of the Winter Camp reflects the commitment of Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles towards nurturing young minds, fostering character development and strengthening the bond between the force and the local community.
