Itanagar, Jan 10: Reaffirming its commitment to community welfare and nation-building beyond infrastructure development, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) under Project Brahmank conducted a cleanliness drive at the Siang river front in Pasighat, East Siang district, on Saturday as part of its ongoing Outreach Programme.
BRO has consistently remained at the forefront of initiatives aimed at strengthening its engagement with civil administration and the local population. In continuation of this vision, Project Brahmank had launched its Outreach Programme a few months ago, identifying various monthly themes to expand its activities beyond limited institutional interactions and foster wider community participation.
As part of this initiative, Project Brahmank collaborated with several local organisations and volunteer groups in Pasighat to carry out the cleanliness drive, which was aligned with the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The primary aim of the programme was to create awareness among BRO personnel about cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and the importance of maintaining a hygienic, plastic-free riverfront. The drive also sought to contribute to the national vision of a “Clean India” inspired by Mahatma Gandhi.
By engaging with young volunteers and civil groups, the initiative reinforced values of discipline, collective responsibility, and community participation. Through such efforts, the BRO reiterated its role not only as a premier infrastructure development agency but also as a responsible stakeholder in promoting social welfare and environmental sustainability in the regions where it operates.
