CE Basar takes a review of ongoing health infra projects under PHE&WS Dept

DEOMALI, Jan 13: A State level review meeting of all Superintending Engineers from various circles of the Public Health Engineering & Water Supply (PHE&WS) Department was held here under the chairmanship of Chief Engineer (PHE&WS), Eastern Zone, Tomo Basar.

The meeting was attended by SEs from seven circles, executive engineers from eight districts, and technical experts from the PHE&WS Dept.

On the occasion, CE PHE&WS (EZ) and Director PMU (Health Infrastructure), Tomo Basar reviewed the progress of ongoing health infrastructure projects under the PHE&WS Dept. He emphasized the importance of close coordination with the Health & Family Welfare Dept, particularly in the effective implementation of health infrastructure projects.

Basar further highlighted that the implementation of the mega Water Treatment Plant (WTP) project, integrated with the Tourism Department, would not only help the government generate revenue but also create employment opportunities for local unemployed youth through tourism-related activities. He informed that the project is one-of-its-kind in the State, as it is integrated with value-added tourism components.

Further, the CE urged all SEs and EEs to conduct regular monitoring meetings to ensure timely and proper implementation of projects, while maintaining prescribed quality standards.

Earlier, while welcoming the participants, SE Miao Circle Matter Riba highlighted the aims and objectives of the meeting.
