Assembly session to begin on Feb 4

ITANAGAR, Jan 29: The two-day sitting of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly will commence on February 4 with the Governor’s customary address to the House.

On the opening day, the Assembly will also take up obituary references in respect of former members Kapchen Rajkumar, Tinghaap Taiju, Punji Mara, Yadap Apang, and Takar Marde, who passed away in the recent past.

Sources said that several key government bills are likely to be tabled during the two-day session.

Speaker chairs BAC

Meanwhile, Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Tesam Pongte on Thursday chaired the 5th sitting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to finalise the agenda for the forthcoming session scheduled for February 4 and 5.

The meeting was held at the Speaker’s Conference Hall and was attended by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Pasang Dorjee Sona, Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor, and MLAs Kumar Waii and Thangwang Wangham.

Also present were Commissioner (Parliamentary Affairs) Mimum Tayeng, Secretary, Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Tadar Meena, and Additional Secretary Agaab Mossang.
