DKGC hosts awareness workshop on PM NAPS

TAWANG, Jan 29: A one-day awareness workshop on Pradhan Mantri Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) was successfully conducted at Dorjee Khandu Govt College, Tawang today.

The programme was launched by Tawang Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo, with the aim of sensitizing students and stakeholders about apprenticeship opportunities and skill development initiatives.

Organized by the District Skill Committee in collaboration with DKGC, the entire programme was efficiently managed and logistically supported by the Deputy Director Industries and her staff, ensuring smooth and successful conduct of the event.

Key attendees included Deputy Director Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Gyati Kacho, representatives from 2Coms Consulting Pvt Ltd, Eduvantage Pvt Ltd, Yuva Shakti, Timilo Boutique, and Vivanta Tawang, along with students from ITI and that of DKGC.

The event featured insightful presentations on PM NAPS, SAPS, and other skill development schemes, highlighting their benefits and long-term career prospects through apprenticeship-based learning.

Addressing the participants, the DC termed the programme as highly productive and urged students to actively engage with the resource persons and make optimal use of the opportunities available under various government schemes.

She stated that the government has signed Memorandums of Understanding with several countries and industries, opening up significant employment avenues, and emphasized the importance of leveraging these opportunities. The DC also urged the Dy Director Kacho to further enhance the functional quality of the ITI at Lungla on a daily basis.

Kacho, in his address, highlighted the department’s initiatives for youth empowerment, with special focus on NAPs and SAPs. He stated that through these schemes, the government aims to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Arunachal by empowering and skilling the youth.

He also made a detailed PPT presentation outlining various ongoing and upcoming skill development programmes.

Consultants and representatives from partner agencies acting as bridges between employers and job seekers also delivered comprehensive presentations on employment scope, industry linkage, and career pathways available to youth through apprenticeship programmes. (DIPRO)
