Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 launched to transform Namsai from Aspirational to ‘Inspirational’ district

NAMSAI, Feb 2: Aimed at transforming Namsai from Aspirational to ‘Inspirational’ district through realizing all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in ADP (Aspirational District Programme) to further raise its status, Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 was launched at the multipurpose cultural hall here today, with Deputy Commissioner C R Khampa and ADC Koliani Namchoom making the launch.

The event coincided with an orientation for newly elected Gram Panchayat Chairpersons (GPCs) and Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs) regarding government schemes being implemented by various departments in the district.

Giving a brief overview of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0, DPO Dr Keshav Sharma stressed the need to achieve 100 percent saturation of all 11 KPIs including 5 in Namsai and 6 at Chowkham block.

In this regard, the DPO emphasized the importance of collaboration between Head of Departments (HoDs), whom he called ‘leaders of change’, and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). He noted that departments should not work in silos and that the program must be launched as a Jan Andolan, as developing the villages will automatically lead to the saturation of all KPIs.

During the formal launch, the DC highlighted that Namsai has improved its rank from 96 in 2018 to 13 today among Aspirational Districts. He urged that all KPIs be fulfilled so the district can achieve a gold medal this time. He reiterated that communication, coordination, cooperation, and convergence between PRIs and HoDs is essential for the saturation of all KPIs.

He further emphasized that the aim is not only to achieve these targets but to sustain them through the support of GPCs, HoDs, SHGs, and frontline workers so that Namsai can transform from “aspirational” to “inspirational” district.

The DC concluded his speech with a Sampoornata Pledge.

Earlier, Kenge Loya, CO cum BDO Chongkham, delivered the welcome address.

Later, the HoDs provided an overview of state and central government schemes, their working mechanisms, and specific Action Points where support and cooperation are required from PRIs. This was done to ensure GPMs can effectively utilize departmental resources for village transformation. (DIPRO)
