Hospitality, housekeeping & culinary skills training begins at Longding

Longding, Feb 2: A four-day training programme on Hospitality, Housekeeping Skills and Culinary Arts was inaugurated at Longding on Monday by MLA-cum-Advisor to the Minister, PWD, Honchun Ngandam. The programme aims to enhance employability and create livelihood opportunities for unemployed youths in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Addressing the gathering, Ngandam highlighted the vast tourism potential of Longding district and urged youths to remain disciplined, focused and committed to skill-based livelihoods. He also stressed environmental conservation as a key component of sustainable tourism.

District Tourism Officer T K Kopak, in his welcome address, underlined the importance of skill development as a transformative investment for individuals and communities.

Resource persons from Assam Tourism are conducting technical sessions on hospitality management, housekeeping operations and culinary practices. Around 100 unemployed youths from Ponchau-Wakka Assembly constituency are participating in the training.
