Reh festival celebrated at Anini

ANINI, Feb 2: Dibang Valley district on Sunday celebrated Reh, the most important cultural festival of the Idu Mishmi community, at Anini with great enthusiasm.

The celebrations were graced by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, Ministers, MLAs, and Bollywood singers Udit Narayan and Aditya Narayan, who joined the local community in the traditional festivities.

Extending greetings to the Idu Mishmi community, the Chief Minister highlighted the community’s deep cultural bond with nature. On the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated 14 developmental projects and laid the foundation stone for the 2 MW Ange Water Micro Hydel Station.

Chief Secretary Manish Gupta assured full support for Anini’s development and emphasized regulated and sustainable tourism through a master plan, restriction on plastic items, and improved wastewater management.

The three-day Reh Festival (February 1 to 3) is being celebrated centrally at Anini and in villages across Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, and Lohit districts.

Among those present were local MLA Mopi Mihu, DC, SP, officers of the Indian Army and ITBP, heads of departments, and other officials. (DIPRO)
